Dear Comber Grove families,
Welcome back to the last term of this academic year. We have a busy few weeks ahead so please keep an eye on the diary dates on this Newsletter. We have made a few minor changes to accommodate some amazing trips. Our ‘Carnival of Cultures’ and international food festival/ End of Year Class Parties will be taking place on Wednesday 19th July at 2pm so please put this date into your diary.
We will be having our Sports days on Monday 19th June 2023 (Years 1, 2 and 3) and on Tuesday, 20th June 2023 (Years 4, 5 and 6) at Myatts Field Park this year. We look forward to seeing you at our Sports Days, so start practising.
Jazz Festival- Clore Ballroom
Our year 5 and Year 6 pupils have been rehearsing with Pete Latanka and we are looking forward to their performance at the Southwark Jazz Festival, Clore Ballroom Floor, Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre on Thursday, 22nd June 2023, at 5:00pm. No tickets required. Free of charge!
Phonics screening check
Next week our Year 1 pupils will complete the Year 1 phonics screening check. This will be a gentle assessment and we have high hopes the children will do incredibly well. Please ensure your child is at school next week in order for the tests to take place. The screening will take place each morning from Monday – Wednesday.
Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC)
Next week our Year 4 pupils will complete the statutory Multiplication Tables Check (MTC). This is a speed and accuracy test so please encourage your children to practice Times Tables Rockstar at home!
